Amenorrhea Study: Researchers seek women ages 18-35 with amenorrhea (lack of menstrual cycles) for a 36-week treatment study (four overnight stays, six outpatient visits, screening, and follow-up). Leptin treatment (investigational medicine) may restore menstrual cycles and improve bone density. Free hormones tests and bone density measurements. Compensation up to $1,800 and free parking. Cocaine Usage Study: Researchers seek healthy men ages 21-35 who have used cocaine occasionally for a two-visit research study. Diabetic Neuropathy Study: Researchers seek men and women ages 18 and older who have pain from diabetes. Qualified participants will be enrolled in a research study of an investigational medication. Health Anxiety Study: Researchers seek participants for a treatment study for health anxiety and hypochondriasis. Consists of 24-week counseling and/or medication treatment for people who worry a lot about their health; whose physical symptoms seem to control their lives; or whose physical symptoms haven't gone away with medical treatment. Lifestyle and Fertility Study: Researchers seek women ages 20-34 who are planning their first pregnancy, and their male partners, to participate in a lifestyle and fertility study. Eligible couples with no known history of infertility will be asked to provide a urine and blood sample and fill out questionnaires. Participation involves one initial visit and follow-up until couple is pregnant or six months have passed. Overweight Women Study: Researchers seek healthy women ages 22-65 who are 15-25 pounds overweight to examine the effects of a medication on body weight and hunger. This medication is FDA-approved for use in people with type 2 diabetes. Must not have diabetes or heart disease, and must not have had surgery for obesity. PMS Study: Researchers seek women ages 18-45 who suffer from PMS to see if a birth control pill helps with mood symptoms that occur the week before a period. Criteria include having premenstrual mood symptoms, currently being treated with an antidepressant, and regular menstrual periods. Postherpetic Neuralgia Study: Researchers seek male and female volunteers over the age of 18 with pain following shingles. Qualified participants will be enrolled in a research study of an investigational drug. The study requires 8 or 11 outpatient hospital visits over 21 weeks. Sedative Study: Researchers seek healthy volunteers ages 21-35 to participate in a research study to understand how sedative-type drugs make people feel and how they affect brain chemistry. Sleep and Well-being Study. Researchers seek men and women ages 25 and older to participate in a 6-week study to be conducted in their homes. The study is non-invasive and involves filling out daily and weekly surveys either online or sent via the mail, which track their sleep, sleep habits, moods, and overall well-being. For the first two weeks of the study, subjects will sleep on their usual mattress. For the last four weeks of the study, subjects will receive and be required to sleep on a new Select Comfort 5000 mattress, which will be delivered to their home.
