Exploring the 'Life and Times' of John Kenneth Galbraith
The Kennedy School hosted the premiere of the CBC documentary "Abiding Liberal: The Life and Times of John Kenneth Galbraith" on Oct. 16. The program honored the life and work of the the greatly admired, long-lived, and politically significant Harvard economist, who died last April at 97. The showing of the film was followed by a discussion featuring Alan Brinkley, Columbia University; E. J. Dionne Jr., of The Brookings Institution and the Washington Post; James K. Galbraith of the University of Texas, Austin; Samantha Power, Anna Lindh Professor of Practice of Global Leadership and Public Policy at the Kennedy School, and Richard Parker (moderator), lecturer and senior fellow, Shorenstein Center on the Press, Politics and Public Policy and author of "John Kenneth Galbraith: His Life, His Politics, His Economics."
