Harvard veteran organization takes root
In honor of Harvard University's military veterans (including the more than 1,000 individuals who have died in armed conflict since the founding of the College, the Harvard Veterans Alumni Organization (HVAO) is now formalizing their group. Apolitical in purpose, HVAO is looking to earn recognition as a shared interest group and as an adjunct to the Harvard Alumni Association.
In addition to offering a Web presence and network for Harvard graduates, students, and staff who have served, or are serving, in the various branches of the U.S. military, HVAO will act to recognize, honor, and support the contributions of Harvard's veterans.
