Summer orchestra, pops seek players

The Harvard Summer School Orchestra is open to classical musicians from both Harvard and the Greater Boston area. Composed of approximately 60 players, the orchestra will be holding auditions for new members June 27-29 from 5 to 9 p.m. (location to be determined). Rehearsals will be held Monday evenings from 6:30 to 9 p.m. For more information, contact judyzuckerman@yahoo.com.

Additionally, the Harvard Summer Pops Band is open without audition to wind and percussion players from both Harvard and the Greater Boston area. Rehearsals for the pops begin June 28 (7 to 9:30 p.m.) For more information, call (617) 496-2263.

Summer School Chorus auditions upcoming

Under the direction of Jameson Marvin, director of choral activities at Harvard, the Harvard Summer School Chorus - open to all Greater Boston community singers and Harvard Summer School students - will be holding auditions June 24 (from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 4:30 p.m.), June 25 (2 to 4:30 p.m.), and June 26 (2 to 4:30 p.m. and 7 to 9:30 p.m.). All auditions will be held in Holden Chapel.

Additionally, rehearsals for the chorus's Aug. 4 performance of Haydn's "Lord Nelson Mass" will be held June 27 in Sanders Theatre. For more information, call Sarah Whitten, choral administrator, at (617) 495-0692.
