Bulldog track and fielders get past hosts

A visiting Yale women's track and field team captured 10 of 18 events this past Saturday (April 22) to take an 86-77 win in the Crimson's only dual meet of the outdoor season. Harvard freshman Shannon Flahive took two events in the loss, winning the 100-meter dash (12.43 seconds) and the triple jump (5.72 meters) to outpace all Crimson athletes.

Frosh swings new title for women's golf

Golfer Emily Balmert '09 became the first Harvard team member in program history to win the Ivy League's individual championship this past Saturday (April 22) in McAfee, N.J. In the first day of competition (Sunday's final round was cancelled due to rain), Balmert shot a 115 through 27 holes to help the Crimson register a program-best second-place finish.

Men's hockey Daigneau takes Tudor Cup, Reese named new captain

Senior goaltender John Daigneau received the John Tudor Memorial Cup as the most valuable player for the league champion Crimson at the team's annual banquet this past Saturday (April 22) at the Harvard Club of Boston. Filling the skates of 2005 Hobey Baker finalist Dov Grumet-Morris '05, Daigneau posted a 19-10-2 record to tie for third on the Crimson's single-season wins list while earning most outstanding player accolades in ECACHL championship play. He finished his career ranked third on the Harvard all-time lists for save percentage (.914) and goals-against average (2.40). Defenseman Dylan Reese '07, meanwhile, was named the team's captain for the 2006-07 campaign. Reese collected four goals and 15 assists this past season to lead all Harvard defensemen.
