Ma Ying-jeou, mayor of Taipei and HLS alum, speaks at HarvardMa Ying-jeou, the mayor of Taipei, Taiwan, and an alumnus of Harvard Law School, gave two talks during a visit to the University. His Emerson Hall talk, titled 'A Vision for Peace and Prosperity,' was sponsored by the Taiwan Studies Workshop of the Fairbank Center and by the Asia Programs at the Kennedy School. Ma received his S.J.D. from the Law School in 1981. Formerly minister of justice, he was elected mayor of Taipei in 1998 and chairman of the Kuomintang (Nationalist Party) in 2005.
