Working with declassified satellite images, Assistant Anthropology Professor Jason Ur has cast new light on the canal system of the Assyrian capital of Nineveh. Says Ur, 'If you press your nose against a Monet, all you see is a blur. If you take a few steps back, you see lilies, you see bridges. For this reason, remote sensing data is really irreplaceable.'
