Flu shots are available
The Harvard University Health Services (HUHS) has received another supply of flu vaccine and will resume scheduled flu vaccination clinics on Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon to 3 p.m. Tuesday clinics will be held in the Monks Library on the second floor of HUHS in Holyoke Center. Thursday clinics will be held on the fourth floor in the Wacker conference room, also in Holyoke Center. These clinics are open to both high-risk individuals and any individual in the Harvard community who wishes to be vaccinated against the flu. Those attending the clinics will be asked to present their Harvard ID. If you have any questions or concerns, contact primary care or call (617) 998-HUHS. Call the flu information line at (617) 496-2288 prior to attending a clinic.
Brattle holding 'watch-a-thon'
The Brattle Theatre, a historic Harvard Square staple and longtime cinema destination for the University community, must raise $400,000 by the end of the year to remain in operation. To help achieve this goal, the theater is holding a watch-a-thon fundraiser through Dec. 4. Center for the Environment accepting fellow applicants
The Harvard University Center for the Environment recently announced that it will name its first eight environmental fellows in March 2006. The fellows' two-year postdoctoral program will start in September 2006, and applications are due by Jan. 15, 2006.
Fellowships will be awarded on a competitive basis. Candidates will propose a research program and secure a commitment from one or more Harvard faculty members to host the candidate's work. The fellowship provides an annual stipend of $50,000 plus health insurance, other benefits, and a $5,000 allowance for travel and professional expenses.
