Scherf's strong finish drives Crimson at pre-nationals

Sophomore cross country runner Lindsey Scherf placed fifth in the blue race at the NCAA Pre-Nationals Meet this past Saturday (Oct. 15) in Terre Haute, Ind. Scherf completed the course in 20:16 - 14 seconds behind race leader Victoria Mitchell of Butler - to help the Crimson women finish 25 out of 35 schools. The men's and women's teams will compete this Sunday (Oct. 23) in the Mayor's Cup at Boston's Franklin Park.

Way to go Breaux

Wide receiver Alex Breaux '09 picked up the Ivy League's Rookie of the Week award following his 100-yard performance this past Saturday against Lafayette. On the afternoon, Breaux reeled in five catches for 89 yards, and scored the go-ahead touchdown late in the third quarter to help Harvard to a 24-17 win. Breaux's latest honor marks his second rookie of the week selection of the young season. The Crimson (3-2; 1-1 Ivy) host Princeton this Saturday (Oct. 22) at 12:30 p.m.
