Arkansas Black Hall of Fame set to induct David L. Evans

David L. Evans, senior admissions officer for Harvard College, will be inducted into the Arkansas Black Hall of Fame at an Oct. 15 ceremony in Little Rock. Evans joins five other African Americans with ties to the state to be inducted this year.

Notable hall of fame members include author Maya Angelou, President Bill Clinton (honorary member), and renowned Civil Rights lawyer Scipio Africanus Jones.

Michael Herzfeld to receive honorary degree

The Université Libre de Bruxelles recently announced that it has awarded an honorary doctorate degree to Harvard Professor of Anthropology Michael Herzfeld. An awards ceremony will be held Nov. 16 in Brussels, Belgium.
