Milton Fund accepting faculty proposals

The William F. Milton Fund makes research funds available to faculty members of the University for studies of a medical, geographic, historic, or scientific nature.

Applicants must be members of the University with voting privileges in their respective faculties and must not have received Milton Fund support during the past five years. Preference is given to new and original projects, especially independent work of recently appointed young faculty members.

'Marketing Yourself' info session set for Sept. 21

A "Marketing Yourself for Career Success" information session will be held Sept. 21 at 5:30 p.m. in the News and Information Center in Holyoke Arcade, 1350 Massachusetts Ave. The session is sponsored by Harvard Employment services. PBHA plant sale to start Friday

The Phillips Brooks House Association (PBHA) is holding a five-day plant sale starting this Friday (Sept. 16) to help raise money to benefit PBHA programs. The sale will run from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the first floor of the House. Please note that on Sept. 17 the sale will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Sept. 18, it will begin at 11 a.m. and close at 6 p.m. Plants are being provided by Brattle Square Florist.

Register for Children's Night

The Center for Astrophysics (CfA) is now holding sign-ups for its fall Children's Night series. This year, age groups will be separated by times. Children between 8 and 10 will be booked for the 7 p.m. time slot, while children between 11 and 13 will be scheduled for the 8:15 p.m. slot. HRC to hold weekend auditions

The 150-voice Harvard-Radcliffe Chorus (HRC) is holding auditions for all voice parts this Saturday (Sept. 17) from 2 to 6 p.m. and on Sunday (Sept. 18) from 6 to 10 p.m. at Lowell Lecture Hall. The audition consists of scales, ear and pitch memory exercises, and sight-reading. Auditions are on a first-come, first-served basis, and take approximately 10 minutes. A prepared piece is not required.

This year's repertoire includes Beethoven's "Ninth Symphony" and Vivaldi's "Gloria." HRC rehearses Monday evenings from 7 to 10 p.m. For more information, contact associate conductor Kevin Leong at (617) 495-0693, or e-mail kleong@fas.harvard.edu.
