Monumental task
The Soldiers Field monument, like the land on which it stood, commemorates some of the young men who died in the Civil War. The original marble piece has been moved out of the elements and into the Murr Center, and an exact copy in more sturdy granite (above) now occupies the place inside Gate One of Soldiers Field.
