Career Forum set for June 14

Open to Harvard employees, public

Employment Services, collaborating with a University-wide organizing committee, is hosting its seventh annual career forum on June 14. This year's event will be held at the Graduate School of Design's Gund Hall, 48 Quincy St. The event will be open to the public from 3 to 7 p.m.

The forum will open to internal candidates only at 1 p.m., allowing University employees and recently laid off employees an opportunity to receive individual attention from hiring areas. Individuals must present a valid Harvard ID to gain admission during this period.

Career Forum 2005 will include tables for each participating unit, providing hiring areas with the opportunity to speak to their current or anticipated needs. Job seekers will be able to learn about specific openings, as well as the benefits that come with working at Harvard. The forum will also feature a Learning Center, which will conduct a series of workshops titled "Resumes That Work," "The Power of Networking," and "Interviewing for Success," and a resource center where attendees can obtain information on career development and employment-related information from various community service organizations.

Agencies that have confirmed their attendance include the Phillips Brooks House (Cambridge Student Partnership), Harvard Extension School, the City of Cambridge Office of Workforce Development, Boston Career Links, Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission, Career Sources (Cambridge), and Harvard's Office of Government and Community Affairs.
