HARVARD GAZETTE ARCHIVES
Harvard Magazine names Ledecky Fellows for 2005-06The fellows, who join the editorial staff during the year, contribute to the magazine as "undergraduate" columnists and by initiating story ideas, writing news and feature items, and editing copy. La Rue is a government concentrator focusing on U.S. politics and social policy; he resides in Quincy House. As editor of SWIFT, a student-run satire magazine, La Rue has supplemented his academic interests with comedy writing. This summer he plans to work in politics in Pennsylvania. Widdicombe, who spent a year in Tibet, Nepal, and India prior to enrolling at Harvard, is a resident of Dunster House. A history and literature concentrator, she expects to write her senior thesis on the Gilded Age. A past writer at the Crimson and a current Lampoon staff writer, Widdicombe will be a newspaper reporter this summer. The fellowship is supported by Jonathan J. Ledecky '79 and is named in honor of his mother.
