In brief

Grossman Library to close during Sever Hall renovations

The Harvard Extension School's Grossman Library will be closed beginning May 28 while Sever Hall undergoes major renovations. The library will reopen Sept. 19 in time for fall classes.

Research grants available through Schlesinger Library

The Arthur and Elizabeth Schlesinger Library on the History of Women in America at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study is currently accepting applications for the Carol K. Pforzheimer Student Fellowships. Intended to encourage Harvard College students to use the resources of the Schlesinger Library, the fellowship awards $100 to $2,500 to cover research expenses or as support in lieu of summer employment, to enable the recipient to pursue research in the library's collections.

Preference will be given to applicants whose topics deal with the history of community service, volunteer work, the culinary arts, health, or work and the family. The research may be related to a project for which academic credit is given, but that is not necessary.

The application deadline is April 1, and non-U.S. citizens should contact the library regarding visas and other required paperwork prior to applying. For more information, visit http://www.radcliffe.edu/schles/grants.
