ABC News' Dr. Johnson will deliver Noble Lectures

Timothy Johnson, medical editor for ABC News, will deliver the prestigious William Belden Noble Lectures in three parts on Nov. 15, 16, and 17 at 8 p.m. in the Memorial Church. The series is titled "Finding God" and the topic for Nov. 15 will be "Finding God in the Universe"; on Nov. 16 Johnson will discuss "Finding God in Jesus"; and on Nov. 17, "Finding God in Everyday Life."

A nationally known commentator and journalist focusing on medical and health-care policy issues, Johnson holds joint positions in medicine at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital. The founding editor of the Harvard Medical School Health Letter, he is also the author of "Dr. Timothy Johnson's OnCall Guide to Men's Health," and, with former Surgeon General Dr. C. Everett Koop, co-author of "Let's Talk." In addition to his work for ABC News, Johnson is assisting minister of the Community Covenant Church in West Peabody, Mass. He recently published a spiritual memoir, "Finding God in the Questions: A Personal Journey," which will form the basis of his lectures.

The William Belden Noble Lectures were established at Harvard University in 1898 and claim an impressive roster of past lecturers including Theodore Roosevelt, H. Richard Niebuhr, Sen. Eugene McCarthy, and Archbishop of Canterbury Robert Runcie. The Noble Lectures are free and open to the public.
