Safra accepting 2005-06 fellowship applications
The Edmond J. Safra Foundation Center for Ethics invites graduate students who are writing dissertations, or who are engaged in major research on topics in practical ethics, especially ethical issues in business, education, government, law, and medicine, to submit applications for its 2005-06 graduate fellowships in ethics.
Students should be enrolled in a doctoral program of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences or in one of Harvard's professional schools, and should have completed all course requirements and general examinations by September prior to the fellowship year. In professions such as law or medicine, advanced students taking leaves of absence, recent graduates, and Harvard affiliates engaged in postgraduate training are also eligible. The application deadline is Nov. 15.

Behind the scenes at Peabody
The Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology will host a behind-the-scenes look into its laboratory on Oct. 23 from noon to 4:30 p.m. Come see the lab used by zooarchaeologists to identify bones found in excavations, or bring in a bone from your own backyard and have it identified. HMNH seeks volunteer 'Gallery Guides'
The Harvard Museum of Natural History (HMNH) seeks volunteers who wish to share their enthusiasm for natural history with museum visitors of all ages. Gallery Guides will attend eight training sessions and will work with live animals. HMNH is looking for volunteers who are able to commit to one morning or afternoon per weekend.

Kuwait program accepting grant proposals
The Kennedy School of Government (KSG) has announced the seventh funding cycle for the Kuwait Program Research Fund. A KSG faculty committee will consider applications for small one-year grants (up to $30,000) to support advanced research by Harvard faculty members on issues of critical importance to Kuwait and the Gulf.
There are no formal application forms. Inquiries and research proposals (not exceeding five pages), including a budget, other sources of funding, and the curriculum vitae for senior researchers may be sent to: Associate Director, Middle East Initiative, KSG, 50 Church St., office 302, Cambridge, MA 02138. The deadline for the receipt of grant applications is Nov. 15.
