Heavy-hitting frosh lands league nod, again

For the second time this season, freshman softballer Virginia Fritsch has been named Ivy League Rookie of the Week. In the Crimson's last six outings, Fritsch has hit .368 with four home runs, eight RBI, and six runs scored to help Harvard (19-17-1) to a 4-2 mark since April 20.

Harvard closes out its season with a pair of doubleheaders against Dartmouth and Rhode Island this Saturday (May 1) and Sunday (May 2), respectively, before a visit from B.C. on May 4. First pitch against the Big Green is scheduled for 2 p.m.

Tennis takes slice (at least) of title

With wins over Yale this past weekend, Harvard's men's and women's tennis teams both clinched at least a share of the 2004 Ivy League title. The No. 22-ranked Crimson men (16-6; 6-0 Ivy) downed the Elis, 6-1, to extend Harvard's Ancient Eight-win streak to 21 outings, while the women (13-9; 6-0 Ivy) took the doubles point and four of six singles matches to better Yale, 5-2.
