HCPDS launches new faculty grants program

The Harvard Center for Population and Development Studies (HCPDS) is now offering research grants to support summer and academic year research, workshops, working groups, and lecture series by faculty of the University in all fields related to population, health, and development. The center's research committee, which gives priority to interdepartmental or cross-School collaborations that contribute to the center's mission related to the well-being of the global poor, reviews applications for grants once a year.

Interested faculty should submit a proposal to the HCPDS Research Committee by April 15. Along with an application cover sheet, please include a proposal (not exceeding 750 words), including a description of the research project, working group, workshop, or lecture series for which support is sought, as well as an explanation of how the award would further the objectives of the project; a detailed, one-page budget that itemizes all anticipated expenses to be covered by the grant, and the time period in which the grant will be spent; and lastly, a short, relevant curriculum vitae for each core member of the project.

Applications should be addressed to the research committee and be submitted directly to the center to the attention of: Research Committee,

Harvard Center for Population and Development Studies, 9 Bow St., Cambridge, MA 02138. For more information, please contact cpds@hsph.harvard.edu, or visit the center's Web site at http://www.hsph.harvard.edu/hcpds/research.html.

Awards will be announced and applicants notified by mid-May.
