In brief

Sackler Saturday volunteers needed

Harvard University Art Museums needs volunteers to help out with this year's Sackler Saturday installments. The program, which kicks off Oct. 18 with an archaeological dig theme, invites families with children ages 6 to 11 to visit the Sackler Museum for hands-on activities, storytelling, gallery tours, and games. Individuals who can attend two or three morning meetings prior to each Saturday event (in addition to the event itself) are sought. No experience is needed, and training will be provided.

Interested parties should contact Lynne Stanton at (617) 495-4402 or lstanton@fas.harvard.edu.

K through 12 tutors needed

Cambridge School Volunteers Inc. (CSV) - a private, nonprofit organization that recruits, trains, and places volunteers in Cambridge Public Schools - is recruiting people of all ages and backgrounds to serve as tutors, classroom aides, and library assistants. Volunteers are needed any time between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

For more information, call CSV at (617) 349-6794.
