A.R.T. one of Time's top five

Time magazine has recently named the American Repertory Theatre (A.R.T.) as one of the five best regional theaters in the country. For its focus on new work and artists, and by serving local audiences, the A.R.T. placed third behind the Goodman Theater in Chicago, and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, Ore. The Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis and the South Coast Repertory in Costa Mesa, Calif., captured the fourth and fifth spots, respectively.

Rev. Gomes honored with degrees

The Rev. Professor Peter J. Gomes was the recipient of three honorary degrees this commencement season, receiving honors from Mt. Ida College, Willamette University in Salem, Ore., and the State University of New York, Geneseo. Gomes, the Plummer Professor of Christian Morals and Pusey Minister in the Memorial Church, was also the commencement speaker at the three bestowing institutions. He holds 21 honorary degrees.

Greyser's latest book released

Stephen A. Greyser, the Richard P. Chapman Professor of Business Administration Emeritus at Harvard Business School, has co-authored (along with John M.T. Balmer of England's Bradford University) the new book "Revealing the Corporation: Perspectives on Identity, Image, Reputation, Corporate Branding, and Corporate-Level Marketing" (Routledge, 2003). This is the 15th book or monograph that Greyser has written.

Johns Hopkins names Kaelin to scholar society

William G. Kaelin Jr., professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School, has been elected to the Johns Hopkins University Society of Scholars. Kaelin joined 14 other esteemed scientists, clinicians, and social scientists to be honored during the society's 34th induction ceremony and at the university's commencement ceremony on May 21-22. The society inducts former postdoctoral fellows and junior or visiting faculty who have gained marked distinction in their field.
