Weissman Program launches 24 interns around the globe

For the past 10 years the Weissman International Internship Program, established by Paul ('52) and Harriet Weissman in 1994, has provided nearly 170 sophomores and juniors with the opportunity to participate in an international internship in a field of work related to their academic and career goals. The internship program strives to enable students to develop a richer understanding of the global community in which they live and work, and provide an opportunity for them to share their experiences with the Harvard community when they return.

This year's 24 interns will work with organizations in both the private and public sectors in Africa, Latin America, Eastern and Western Europe, East Asia, and Southeast Asia.

The Weissman International Internship Program recipients are Ashkan Abbey '05, Rupak Bhattacharya '05, Sebastian Brown '05, Sarah Burke '05, Leila Chirayath '04, Caryn Davies '04, Melissa Dell '04, Christopher Golden '05, James Gray '04, Julie Greenberg '04, Josue Guinart-Carreno '05, Oliver Harper '04, Victoria Henderson '05, Sandeep Kulkarni '03, Karen Lo '05, Julia Mansfield '05, Jeslyn Miller '05, Christopher Moffo '04, Christine Murray '04, Sameer Narang '04, Claire Porter '05, Richard Re '03, Lara Setrakian '03, and Paul Wang '04.

The Weissman International Internship Program is housed within the International Experience Program (IEP) at the Office of Career Services. There will be information meetings for interested students next fall.

The application deadline for the Weissman Program will be in early February 2004. For more information, contact the IEP office or visit the Web site at www.ocs.fas.harvard.edu/international/weiss.htm.
