Mental Health Week to examine range of topics :

Second annual Mental Health Awareness Week will run from April 21-25

Harvard's second annual Mental Health Awareness Week will run April 21-25. Organized by the undergraduate Mental Health Awareness and Advocacy Group, the five-day event will feature talks, student displays, and activities designed to educate the Harvard community on various mental health topics. Following is a schedule of the four main events.

"The Many Sides of Suicide" - a panel discussion with experts, clinicians, and survivors of suicide - will be held April 21 at 8 p.m. in Harvard Hall, Room 201. On April 22 at 8 p.m., Lecturer on Psychology Shelley Carson will present "From Hannibal Lecter to Virginia Woolf: How Hollywood Portrays Mental Disorder," in Emerson Hall, Room 105. "Depression, Too, Is a Thing With Feathers" - a speech by Andrew Solomon, author of "The Noonday Demon: An Atlas of Depression" - will be held on April 23 at 8 p.m. in Harvard Hall, Room 201. And on April 24 at 8 p.m. in Emerson Hall, Room 105, Professor of Psychology Richard McNally and two students will discuss anxiety disorders.
