Errata

In the subheadline on page 1 of the Feb. 14 issue of the Gazette, Jeremy R. Knowles was misidentified as the dean of Harvard College. Knowles is the dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences; Harry R. Lewis is the dean of Harvard College.

In the Big Picture on page 5 of the Feb. 14 issue of the Harvard Gazette, it was stated that astronomer Cecilia Payne-Gaposchkin was given tenure in 1956. Payne-Gaposchkin received tenure at Harvard in 1938. She was the third, not the first, woman to receive a professorial title in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences.

The Gazette regrets the errors.
