Newberger appointed to Berklee Board of Trustees

Eli H. Newberger, an assistant professor of pediatrics at Harvard Medical School, has been appointed to the Berklee College of Music Board of Trustees. An accomplished jazz musician, Newberger is a world-renowned advocate for children's health and welfare. "As a lifelong admirer of Berklee and its distinguished faculty and alumni, I am honored to be able to make a more substantial contribution to its mission," he said.

Greenblatt receives new Mellon Foundation award

The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation has named Cogan University Professor Stephen Greenblatt, professor of humanities, one of the first five recipients of its new distinguished achievement award for scholarship in the humanities. Greenblatt received the award for his research and interpretation of Renaissance English literature. The awards, which are worth up to $1.5 million each, are given to the honorees through their institutions and are intended for salaries, research costs, and the expenses of colleagues who collaborate with the recipients.
