Institute for Advanced Theatre Training names new director

The American Repertory Theatre (A.R.T.) has announced that Hungarian theater and film director János Szász has been appointed director of the A.R.T Institute for Advanced Theatre Training at Harvard. Szász replaces François Rochiax, who is leaving his post after five years to take over the artistic directorship of the Carouge Theatre in Switzerland.

Gerber wins Jewish Studies prize

Michael Gerber '01 has won this year's Norman Podhoretz Prize in Jewish Studies for his essay "The Problem of Mystery and Commandment: Leo Baeck's Intellectual Project in the Age of the Wiemar Republic." The award is given to the Harvard student who submits the best essay, article, or short stosry on a Jewish theme.
