Summers to be installed on Oct. 12 as 27th president

Lawrence H. Summers will be officially installed as Harvard's 27th president on Friday, Oct. 12, in an outdoor ceremony in Tercentenary Theatre.

An academic procession will begin at 2 p.m. followed by the installation ceremony at 2:30 p.m. All members of the Harvard community are invited to attend.

More specific information about this and other inaugural events, including symposia and a student performance, will be available later this summer.
