Cymbalic gesture for Office for the Arts director
At the final meeting of the Arts First planning committee, founding Director of the Office for the Arts Myra Mayman was surprised by a secretly planned musical tribute. The Lowell House Music Society played the final section of the "1812 Overture," providing Mayman with a pair of cymbals to crash in the final, noisy bit of the rousing piece. Mayman will be stepping down as director in June to embark on "a life of international travel and romance."
