Anderson Imbert, 90, Victor Thomas Professor of Latin American Literature
Enrique Anderson Imbert, the Victor Thomas Professor of Latin American Literature at Harvard University from 1965 until his retirement in 1980, died in Buenos Aires, Argentina, this past Dec. 6. He was 90.
A distinguished Argentine author and scholar, Anderson Imbert was a member of the Argentine Academy of Letters and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He was the author of several novels, numerous essays, and many collections of short stories.
