Assault and battery offenders are sought by police

On Saturday, Jan. 27, between 4 and 4:10 a.m., two individuals unaffiliated with the University were the victims of an assault and battery while walking along Francis Avenue at Bryant Street when a vehicle approached them. Words were exchanged between the vehicle's occupants and the two individuals after one of the individuals had fallen down. Soon after driving away, the vehicle returned when one of the occupants of the vehicle approached one of the two individuals, striking him with a black, club-type weapon. The victim suffered a minor laceration to the head. The vehicle and its occupants then fled the area in an unknown direction.

Both of the suspects are described as white males, between the ages of 18 and 22. One suspect is described as weighing between 150 and 175 pounds, between 5 feet 9 inches and 6 feet tall, with short, dark hair and a goatee. The second suspect is described as standing between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 9 inches tall, with short blond hair and wearing stylish, black, oval glasses. The vehicle is described as a blue/gray, '70s to early '80s American-made four-door.

If you have any information regarding this incident, please contact the Cambridge Police Department, Criminal Investigations Unit at (617) 349-3370.
