Marine Science Review Established at Harvard

Harvard students have established the Harvard Marine Science Review, a new peer association of scientists, educators, researchers, and students dedicated to the advancement of the fields of ichthyology and marine sciences.

The Review is intended to provide a forum for the presentation of research, ideas, theory, and debate, and to encourage the spirit of discovery within these fields.

Members are encouraged to present scientific work at meetings, which are held weekly on Wednesday evenings in Harvard Hall, Room 102, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Paper or poster presentations are followed by a question-and-answer session, proctored by the lecturer. A film series is also scheduled, followed by group discussions. Field trips are planned throughout the semester. At the culmination of each semester, the HMSR will publish a selection of original articles that have been presented during the term, a synopsis of the term’s activities, and a member listing.

Meetings are open to the Harvard community and to the general public.

For more information, contact James Lee at jslee@fas.harvard.edu, or Tina Ramme at tramme@fas.harvard.edu, tel. (781) 483-3066.
