Holiday Gift Drive for Children Launched

Phillips Brooks House (PBH) is launching its annual Holiday Gift Drive this week. The drive is expected to bring in hundreds of gifts for children and teenagers in Boston and Cambridge.

Organizers are seeking donations of books, games, toys, art supplies, and sports equipment. The drive, which begins Friday, Dec. 3, is a joint effort among PBH, the College libraries, the undergraduate Houses, Dudley House, and the Graduate School of Education.

Last year's event was the largest ever, with more than 700 donations. This year, the organizers hope to collect more than 1,000 gifts.

Members of the Harvard community may deposit gifts in boxes at Phillips Brooks House, Dudley House, Gutman Library, Conroy Commons, Larsen Hall, or the undergraduate dining halls. Staff and faculty may arrange for office collections by contacting organizer Bryan Richards at (617) 496-8622 or bryan_richards@harvard.edu.

Gifts should be suitable for children from early elementary school through high school; they may include books, games, toys, art supplies, and sports equipment. Please do not include food. The gifts should be in good condition and unwrapped. Updates about the drive will be available online at http://www.fas.harvard.edu/~pbh/gifts.html. The drive will run through Dec. 17.
