Provost, president to hold office hours for students

Provost Harvey Fineberg will hold office hours for students today, Dec. 2, in his Massachusetts Hall office from 4 to 5 p.m. President Neil L. Rudenstine will hold office hours for students in his Massachusetts Hall office on Thursday, Dec. 9, from 4 to 5 p.m.

In January, Fineberg will hold office hours on Tuesday, Jan. 11, from 4 to 5 p.m. and Rudenstine will hours on Wednesday, Jan. 5, from 4 to 5 p.m.

Randy Shaw to Speak at Kennedy School

Randy Shaw, author of The Activist’s Handbook and Reclaiming America: Nike, Clean Air and the New National Activism, will speak at the Kennedy School of Government on Friday, Dec. 3, from 4:10 to 5:30 p.m. The talk, "NGO Power Post-Seattle," will take place in Kalb Seminar Room, Taubman 275.

Center for Genomics Research offers lecture series and seminar

The Center for Genomics Research (CGR) will host a technical seminar given by Adrian Salic, a Ph.D. candidate in cellular biology, on "In Vitro Signaling: Reconstitution and Biochemical Dissection of the Wnt Pathway in Cytoplasmic Extracts," on Monday, Dec. 6, at 4 p.m. (refreshments at 3:30 p.m.).

As part of the CGR Lecture Series, Robert Tepper, chief scientific officer of Millennium Pharmaceuticals Inc., will give a lecture on "Functional Genomics and the Identification of Novel Disease Targets" on Wednesday, Dec. 8, at 4 p.m. (refreshments at 3:30 p.m.). Both events will take place in Fairchild Lecture Hall, 7 Divinity Ave., Room 102.
