Two More Faculty Receive Mail Threats

Two more faculty members received letters lined with razor blades, thought to be sent by a radical animal rights group, according to the University Police Department.

Neither faculty member was injured.

The two letters bring the total number of faculty members receiving the threatening mail to 10. A group calling itself the "Justice Department" is thought to be responsible.

Twelve Harvard faculty members were on a list – released before the letters were received – of 83 researchers nationwide who were warned to stop their animal research by April 2000.

The matter is still under investigation.
