Faculty Council

At its first meeting of the year, the Faculty Council elected a Docket Committee for 1999-2000 as follows: Professors Cynthia Fri (Chemistry and Chemical Biology), Warren Goldfarb (Philosophy), and R. Victor Jones (Engineering and Applied Sciences), with Dean Jeremy R. Knowles (Chemistry and Chemical Biology) serving as chair (ex officio). The Council also agreed to propose Professor Roderick MacFarquhar (Government) as Parliamentarian for the Faculty of Arts and Sciences for 1999-2000.

The Council discussed with Dean Christoph Wolff (Music) a proposed Standing Committee on Higher Degrees in Public Health Sciences to oversee programs in that area. The Council also reviewed its own subcommittee assignments and the proposed aga for the Oct. 19 Faculty Meeting.

The preliminary docket deadline for the Oct. 19 Faculty Meeting is 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 4.
