Career Forum to explore University opportunities

Career Forum '99 will be held Tuesday, June 15, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Gund Hall, Graduate School of Design, 48 Quincy St. The forum is for individuals who want to explore professional and administrative support positions at Harvard. In addition, it is a chance to learn about the opportunities throughout the University's many schools and departments in Cambridge and Boston. Information on the benefits of becoming a Harvard employee, as well as applying online, will also be provided.

Affirmative action is topic of Medical School forum

The Medical School will host "Affirmative Action: What Physicians Can Contribute," a day of presentations by Harvard Medical School minority graduates to celebrate 30 years of affirmative action at the Medical School and the School of Dental Medicine.

The event will take place on Thursday, June 10, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Cannon Room, Building C, Harvard Medical School.

The event is free and open to the public.

Law School Class Gives Appreciation Award

The Law School Class of 1999 has selected Caroline Soultanian, administrative coordinator in the Registrar's Office, for the Staff Appreciation Award. She will receive the award during Class Day ceremonies, Wednesday, June 9, 2:30 p.m., on the steps of Langdell Hall, 1545 Massachusetts Ave., Cambridge.

The award is given every year by the graduating class to a staff member to express gratitude for the employee's respect of students, commitment to the student experience, and concern for the lives and work of students at the Law School.

A perennial favorite of students, Soultanian has received the award several times, including last year.

Planning & Real Estate to Host Benefit Golf Tournament

The seventh annual Harvard Planning & Real Estate/City of Cambridge Charity Golf Tournament will take place on Friday, June 25, at the Thomas P. O'Neill Jr./Fresh Pond Golf Course in Cambridge. The proceeds will benefit the Cambridge Fund for Housing the Homeless.

The cost of the event is $70 per participant, which includes a golf cart, green fees, a cookout, and a gift. All participants must register in person or by mail at the Golf Course Pro Shop, 691 Huron Ave., Cambridge. The starting times are at 7:30 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. For more information, call (617) 349- 6282.
