Faculty Council

At its seventeenth meeting of the year, the Council discussed again the proposed inter-Faculty Ph.D. Program in Information Technology and Management. A motion to create such a program appears on the Agenda for the May 18 Faculty Meeting.

The Council also discussed several topics relating to undergraduate education: the academic calendar (future accommodation for Jewish holidays and a proposed longer intersession); the AP test score level required for exemption from the language requirement; and a proposed extension of the Undergraduate Teacher Education Program (UTEP) to permit undergraduates to be certified to teach in elementary schools.

Finally, the Council discussed proposals concerning the Administrative Board for Harvard and Radcliffe Colleges presented by Professors R. Victor Jones, William Paul, and Richard Thomas, each of whom is a member of the Faculty Council.

The Faculty next meets on May 18. This was the last Faculty Council meeting of the year.
