Faculty Council
At its fourteenth meeting of the year the Council had a
preliminary discussion with Dean Christoph Wolff (GSAS and Music)
of proposed new Ph.D. programs in information technology and
management and in African-American studies.
In other business, Dean Elizabeth Doherty (Academic Planning) and Dean Marjorie Garber (Affirmative
Action & English) presented the Affirmative Action Report for l998-99, Dean Harry R. Lewis (Harvard
College and Engineering and Applied Sciences) presented the proposed Policy on
Involuntary Leaves of Absence, and the Extension courses for l999-
2000 were approved.
The Faculty meets on April 13, and the Council next meets on
April 14. The preliminary agenda deadline for the May Faculty
Meeting is Monday, April 19, at 9:30 a.m.
