Harvard Faculty Votes to Dismiss Student

The following statement was released on March 9:

The Faculty of Arts and Sciences voted today, by a large margin, to dismiss a student who had been charged by the College with rape.

Dismissal is a separation from the College that is expected to be permanent. There are no circumstances foreseen now under which this student will be readmitted.

Dismissal is the strongest sanction that has been used in modern times for disciplining any student.
