Faculty fellowships in ethics available

Applications for 2000-01 residential Faculty Fellowships in Ethics are invited from teachers and scholars who hold a doctorate or professional degree. Successful applicants normally will have completed their doctoral or professional degree within the past five years. The deadline for receipt of applications is Dec. 1, 1999.

Widener Library begins new admittance policy

Beginning this week, all people entering Widener Library will be required to display a Harvard University ID or other authorized pass (stack pass, hall use privilege card, Friends ID, or Harvard College Library one-day pass) to Library door personnel before gaining admittance.

Any individual who enters through the main door and does not have the appropriate identification will be directed to the Privileges Office during regular business hours (Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.) or will go through a registration process with the door personnel after hours and on weekends. Those without ID who enter the library through the Massachusetts Avenue door will register with the door personnel at all times.

FSAP marks Social Work Month

Clinical social workers at the Faculty and Staff Assistance Program (FSAP) provide free and confidential assessment and referral to Harvard faculty, staff, members of their immediate families, and retirees. For free and confidential solutions, call (617) 495-HELP (4357) to schedule a telephone or an in-person appointment. FSAP's Website is at http://www.fsap.harvard.edu/.

Population studies funding available

The Center for Population and Development Studies, through the Saltonstall Population Innovation Fund, invites applications from Harvard graduate students for positions as graduate associates (GAs) for the academic year 1999-2000. The Saltonstall Population Innovation Fund supports students undertaking innovative graduate work in the field of population studies.
