HARVARD GAZETTE ARCHIVES 'Corruption in the Americas' Conference Scheduled
The conference will focus on four case studies: "Political Incentives and Sting Operations: The Salta, Argentina, Case" presented by Luís Moreno Ocampo, president of Transparency International, Latin American and Caribbean; "Reforming the 'Control Agencies': The Case of the Police in Mexico City" presented by Samuel del Villar, chief prosecutor of Mexico City; "Reforming Municipal Services: Institutional Change in La Paz, Bolivia" presented by Ronald Maclean, former mayor of La Paz, Bolivia; and "Transparency and Accountability: The Case of Public Hospitals" presented by Ernesto Schargrodsky, professor, Torcuato Di Tella University, Buenos Aires, Argentina. The conference will be held at Ames Moot Courtroom, Austin Hall at the Law School, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
