Undergraduate research awards available from
Murray Center
The Murray Center is offering its Undergraduate Research Award
Program for Harvard and Radcliffe undergraduates. Up to $500 for
one or two grants will be awarded to support research using Murray
Center data sets with racially and ethnically diverse samples. Data
can be used by students to develop and answer research questions
related to coursework and senior theses.
Awards will be made each spring. The proposal deadline is April
1. For more information, students should contact the Murray Center

Graduate student associate positions to be funded
The Weatherhead Center for International Affairs (WCFIA)
invites applications from Harvard graduate students for positions as
Graduate Student Associates for the academic year 1999-2000. These
positions are designed to facilitate and supplement a student's
independent research toward a Ph.D. degree in an area relating to
international affairs.
Grants ranging from $500 to $2,000 are available for accepted
research proposals. The application deadline is March 12. For more

Law School to host entertainment and sports
conferences
The Harvard Law School Committee on Sports & Entertainment
Law (CSEL) will present its annual Entertainment Conference on
Friday, Feb. 19, featuring some of the top names in law, publishing,
film studios, and investment banking.
In addition, the CSEL will present its annual Sports Conference on
Friday, Feb. 26, featuring some of the top names in law, sports
marketing, and league/player's union representation.
Both conferences are free and open to the public and take place
starting at 1:30 p.m. at Austin Hall at the Law School.

World Religions Center to offer fellowship
The Center for the Study of World Religions (CSWR) announces its
Undergraduate Thesis Fellowship opportunity for 1999-2000.
Juniors in any Harvard College program whose senior thesis
research will focus primarily on the study of religious phenomena
may apply. The award consists of a $1,200 stipend, which may be
applied to any research-related expenses, including travel or special
language study.
The application deadline is April 15. For information and
