KSG Benefit Auction To Feature Celebrity Prizes

Looking to lunch with Mike McCurry, Bob Dole, or Ben Bradlee? Cheer on the Red Sox with Sen. Alan Simpson? Pick up a Celtics team ball signed by Bird, McHale, Parrish and the rest of the "91-92 team? Then come to the annual Summer Internship Fund (SIF) Benefit Auction at the Kennedy School of Government on Thursday, Feb. 18, in the ARCO Forum of Public Affairs. The silent auction begins at 5:30 p.m. and the live auction starts at 7 p.m.

This year is the first time the School will have an interactive video link from the Kennedy School Washington, D.C., satellite office to the auction in Cambridge. Alumni and others will view the auction on screen in D.C. and submit real-time bids to Cambridge.

Other auction items include a Good Will Hunting script signed by Academy Award-winning actor Ben Affleck; four tickets to the Boston Ballet; two round-trip domestic tickets on Southwest Airlines; a flight to Nantucket for lunch; a day shadowing NBC news correspondent Andrea Mitchell; a watercolor print signed by artist Sen. Edward Kennedy; and four hours of architectural consultation for your home.

The Summer Internship Fund is a student-run organization at the Kennedy School that enables students to work in public and nonprofit organizations. SIF provides stipends of up to $3,500 to students who spend the summer between the first and second years of their master"s degree program working for nonprofit or public organizations that can benefit from the students" skills but lack funding for salaries.
