11 Harvard Research Centers to Participate in Common Grant Application

After more than a year of planning, 11 of Harvard's international research centers will participate this spring in a pilot project -- a common application for their undergraduate and graduate summer research travel grants.

The project aims to facilitate the application process for students, streamline application processing for the centers, and ease the burden of faculty members offering recommendations. Participating centers in 1999 include: the Asia Center, the Center for Middle Eastern Studies, the Committee on African Studies, the Davis Center for Russian Studies, the Fairbank Center for East Asian Studies, the Harvard Institute for International Development, the Korea Institute, the Real Colegio Complutense, the Reischauer Institute of Japanese Studies, the Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies, and the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs.

Grant and eligibility information is available at http://www.ocs.fa s.harvard.edu/html/srtg.html.

The Fellowships Office at the Office of Career Services (OCS) will serve as the processing agent for this project this spring. Applications and additional information are available at particpating centers and the OCS Fellowships Office. Applications are due at the OCS Fellowships Office on Friday, March 5, at 3 p.m.
