Weatherhead Center Appoints Cooney
James A. Cooney has been appointed executive director of the
Weatherhead Center for International Affairs.
Cooney has served as assistant dean for international student
programs at the Kennedy School of Government since 1983, where he
also was an adjunct lecturer in public policy and director of the
McCloy German Scholars Program. Director of the Weatherhead
Center Jorge Dominguez notes that Cooneyıs background and his
Harvard experience "fit in well" with the Centerıs goal to
reach out to all parts of the University in international affairs.
Cooney replaces Anne Emerson, who has assumed the directorship
of the Bostonian Society.
