Students Garner Activities Fund Grants

The following student groups were recently awarded grants by the Harvard College Activities Fund:

Immediate Gratification Players, $1,000 to support the Inter-Collegiate Improv Festival.

Speech and Parliamentary Debate Society, $1,000 to support the high level of competition on the American Parliamentary Debate Association tournament circuit.

South Asian Association, $1,000 to support the South Asian Literature Discussion Series.

Asian American Association, $500 to support the Association's discussion group and sourcebook.

Harvard Book Review, $500 to support the winter and spring issues.

Harvard Pops Orchestra, $1,000 to support the performance of light classical, jazz, and popular works.

The Gamut, $500 to support the inaugural issue of the all-poetry review.

French Club, $500 to support the club's events, including luncheons and film screenings.

Harvard Cheerleading, $500 to support the coaching salary.

The Kuumba Singers, $1,000 to support purchase of computer.

The Harvard Current, $500 to support the inaugural issue of the current events magazine.

Diversity and Distinction, $1,000 to support the purchase of a computer.

Journal of Undergraduate Sciences, $1,000 to support the Imagucation National High School Campaign and the national mailing of the Journal.

Icon Magazine, $500 to support the start-up costs for new online undergraduate magazine.

Funk Appreciation Society, $500 to support a live funk festival.

Tempus, $500, to support the publication of the historical review magazine.

Mozart Society Orchestra, $400 to support the performance of Ottorino Respighi's The Birds.

Harvard Chess Club, $500 to support the Club's competition at the Pan-American Intercollegiate Team Chess Championship.

Mock Trial Team and Pre-Law Society, $1,000 to support the club's participation in competition and distribution of information on the legal field.

HRTV, $1,000 to support the purchase of digital video equipment.

Crimson Dance Team, $1,000 to support the Team's participation in national competition.

Woodbridge Society, $500 to support the Speaker Series.

ArCH, $500 to support increased resources for students interested in architecture.

Harvard Students for the Exploration and Development of Space, $500 to support the discussion of space-related issues.
