Director of Benefits Services Appointed
Regina Perris, who most recently served as director of benefits at
Tufts University, has been appointed director of benefits services at
Harvard.
In announcing the appointment, Polly Price, associate vice
president for human resources, said, "Gina is a seasoned
professional with 17 years of experience in benefits administration
in higher education and the proven ability to guide policy
development within a volatile health care environment."

At Tufts, Perris directed a major reorganization of the benefits
office and the transition to a new software system for benefits
management. Her advice will be essential when Harvard implements
a new Oracle-based HRIS system as part of Project ADAPT.
She also led efforts at Tufts to implement a new discount personal
and casualty insurance program for employees; to analyze and
redesign health plans; to develop a new dental plan; and to launch
employee newsletters on benefits and semi-annual health and
financial fairs.
As director of benefits services at Harvard, Perris will be
responsible for benefits administration and policy, working closely
with the University Benefits Committee, other administrative units
within the Central Administration, the administrative deans, and the
human resources community to ensure that Harvard's benefits
remain fair and competitive.
As leader of the 25-member Benefits Services Group, Perris will
complete the transition to a client service center model of service
delivery. Her job will be to ensure that faculty and staff who have
questions about their benefits receive prompt and thorough
responses, and to help develop publications and online information to
supplement that personal service.
