President Rudenstine to hold office hours for students

President Neil L. Rudenstine will hold office hours for students on Wednesday, Jan. 13, from 4 to 5 p.m. in his Massachusetts Hall office. Office hours are held on a first-come, first-served basis.

Cabot Library Offers Extended Hours

Cabot Library will offer extended hours during January Reading and Exam Periods. Beginning Monday, Jan. 4, the Library will open at 8:30 a.m. and remain open continuously through 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 26.

In addition, the College will support the extended library hours by providing 24-hour shuttle bus service. During the extended hours, one bus will depart the Science Center every 30 minutes and transport students to designated campus stops. During the day, the shuttle service will follow the regular schedule.

Freshman proctors sought for 1999-00

Applications for freshman proctorships for 1999-00 are now available at the Freshman Dean's Office, 6 Prescott St.

A freshman proctor is an adviser in residence with responsibility for academic and general advising. Requirements for eligibility include enrollment in a Harvard graduate school or appropriate half-time employment at the University at the officer's level, and the reasonable expectation of two or more years' availability to serve as a proctor. Proctors are provided housing in a freshman dormitory and a meal allowance.

Candidates are required to submit an application form with three personal recommendations to the Dean of Freshmen, Elizabeth Studley Nathans, by Jan. 28, 1999.

Fellowship available for M.B.A. program in Japan

The Graduate School of International Management at the International University of Japan will provide a full-tuition fellowship award to a Harvard student for its two-year M.B.A. program. For information or an application, visit the Office of Career Services, 54 Dunster St.

Awards to be Funded by the Reischauer Institute

The Reischauer Institute of Japanese Studies will fund up to two conference fee awards to students attending the Japan-America Student Conference this summer. The award deadline is Feb. 1. For further information, please contact the Reischauer Institute, Coolidge Hall 319, or call 495-3220.
