Davidson Named Associate Director of University
Dining Services
David P. Davidson has been named associate director of Harvard University
Dining Services (HUDS). Since 1992, Davidson has served as assistant director
of Campus Restaurants for HUDS. Under his leadership, Campus Restaurants
has grown from 2 to 12 units.
HUDS Director Ted Mayer said, "David has carefully developed a first-rate
team of dedicated, knowledgeable professionals whose loyalty is inspired
by his leadership and can-do attitude. Under David's leadership, the development
of successful new concepts has been part of Campus Restaurants day-to-day
operation, all of which translates to satisfied customers, clients who are
confident in our abilities, financial strength for our department, and opportunities
for our managers and staff. I am confident that David will bring these influences
to Dining Services as a whole, helping us to be a lean, strong department
whose role in the University will only continue to grow and prosper."
Davidson received the additional honor of being named to the Society
for Foodservice Management's board of directors last May. SFM is a national
association of more than 1,300 individuals who are "recognized in the
industry as possessing the highest standards of professionalism" and
"set the industry standards for social responsibility."
Davidson joined HUDS in 1991 as manager of Dudley Café. He presided
over Region 2 of SFM (representing the northern New England states) from
1995 to 1998.
