Harvard China Review To Sponsor Conference
A conference on "The Asian Financial Crisis: Challenges and Opportunities" will be sponsored by the Harvard China Review (HCR) and held at the Kennedy School of Government this Saturday.
The one-day conference has been co-organized with the Harvard Institute for International Development (HIID), the Asia-Pacific Forum at Harvard University, and the Chinese Finance Association (North America).
Zhou Xiaochuan, president of China Construction Bank, and Li Zhaoxing, ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the United States, will give the morning keynote speech and the lunch keynote speech, respectively. It is an opportunity for leading academics, international bankers, and policymakers to address important issues and to exchange ideas and opinions. Panelists will discuss in seven panels the causes and effects of the crises, the international and regional rescue efforts, the post-crisis reforms, the impact of the crisis on investment in Asia and other related topics.
The Harvard China Review is a journal devoted to writings on the transformation occurring in China. The publication strives to depict the vibrance of contemporary China and analyzes China's challenges in an international and historical context. It provides a forum for discussion and debate of China's challenges and promotes creative solutions.
